Join Us For Easter!

Easter is coming! Make your plans now to join us on Sunday, April 8th at the McCallum Theatre, located just across from our church campus! That's right - it's Easter at the McCallum! We will have two worship times - 9 and 11 am - just like our normal Sunday services.

Why are we celebrating at the McCallum? Traditionally, Easter has the largest attendance of any service we hold all year! Last year, we held 5 services to try to accomodate everyone! With an Easter that's "in season" this year, combined with the marvelous church growth we're experiencing, we knew there was NO WAY to hold enough Sunday services on sight.

Rest assured, there's no charge to attend. What a wonderful opportunity to invite your family, friends, neighbors and associates to come and celebrate Easter with our church family. One of our goals, as believers in Christ, is reaching out to others with the good news of the Gospel. This special service, offered at both 9 and 11 am on Easter morning, will appeal to many who may not ordinarily be interested in attending church. Best of all, the church of Jesus Christ is made up of us - His people. Therefore, wherever we gather, we can have church! Please be praying, asking God who you can invite - and that they would join us in celebrating that Jesus died, but now He's alive! I love Easter!

Welcome!

This month, we're welcoming two special pastors with significant roles - reaching out to seniors and to families!

Jim Smoke comes to us with a wonderful background of ministry experience, and is now serving as our Pastor with Senior Adults! Beginning in March, a Sunday morning class tailored for seniors will be offered at 8 am in the Family Room, along with Jim's arrangements of special events and taking the lead in visitation for those needing prayer and care. Welcome, Jim!

Mike Patterson is well-known in our church family as a pastor of many talents! Now, Mike is taking the new role of Pastor to Families and Groups, focusing primarily upon ministering to families while continuing to lead Life Groups here at the church. Mike has a Family Camping Trip planned in April, and is working in conjunction with children's and youth ministries to provide greater collaboration and emphasis. I thank God for Mike in this role!

One of the blessings of growth in our church family is being able to offer more ministry to those we serve, while also creating a broader base of opportunity to reach into our community. Thanks for supporting these pastors and ministries - it's going to be a great year here at Desert Springs!
