Desert Springs served as a pickup location for gift-filled shoe boxes here in the valley. Organized through Samaritan's Purse, over 5,500 boxes came in - totally loading a semi-truck trailer! Special thanks to Laura Keener on staff for organizing this event, and everyone in our church family who gave, providing over 500 boxes from our church! We've been told that our boxes will be going to needy kids in the Philippines!Meanwhile, warm thanks as well to everyone who donated toward Thanksgiving Dinners for those in need within our church. 21 complete banquets were given out, and we have added food in store for the Christmas season! Thank you so much for giving!
Now, we're collecting toys for the children of our troops at the 29 Palms Marine Base. Hal and Janet Graham are leading the charge to collect and deliver these gifts of love from our church. Drop off your unwrapped toys for the 29 Palms kids by December 15!
